1790, October 15: Mount Carmel Monastery was established in Port Tobacco, Maryland
1831, September 13: Due to financial and economical losses, Archbishop James Whitfield transfers 24 Carmelite Nuns to the City of Baltimore.
1836: Property sold to Edward Sanders except for 1 acre which had been used as the cemetery for the nuns and the community
1934, September 2: Cecilia Talbott & daughter Isabelle Haggerty visit the Carmel Monastery and decide to restore it
1935, July 16: The Restorers of Mount Carmel of Maryland was formally established
1935, October 23: The Restorers adopt a constitution
1936, April 2: 6.75 acres of land purchased by The Restorers from Edward Sanders to restore the sacred ground with the hope that the Carmelite nuns would one day return
1954, July 18: Breaking of the ground for the new Chapel
1954, August 15: Laying of the corner stone by Archbishop O’Boyle of Washington, D.C.
1954, November 14: Dedication of the Chapel by Archbishop O’Boyle
1968, October 20: Dedication of the new Pilgrim Hall, built to host pilgrims visiting the site
1976, March 19: Carmelite Nuns return to reside at Carmel of Port Tobacco
2004, May 14: The Restorers becomes a legal entity of the State of Maryland
2006: Rededication of Pilgrim Hall
2024, April 21: Restoration and rededication of the Chapel of Our Lady of Mount Carmel
